Home network, server and smart home
Besides writing applications, I also build the physical and network foundations those applications – and the whole house – can run on. Server, network, automation and privacy, organised once and done right.
A foundation, not an add-on
A router on factory settings, a smart home scattered across several manufacturer apps, a server with no backup – that's the most common state of home infrastructure. It works until something fails.
I set it up once, deliberately: network, server, automation and privacy as one coherent system rather than a collection of random devices.
What I actually handle
Home servers and self-hosting
Docker, Proxmox, NAS, backups and proper virtualisation – services you host yourself, without paying for the cloud or losing control of your data.
Smart home and automation
Home Assistant as the heart of the house: integrating devices from different brands, scenes, schedules and automations that genuinely make the day easier instead of adding yet another app.
DNS, ads and privacy
AdGuard Home blocking ads and tracking across the whole network – it works for every device in the house without installing anything on your phone or laptop.
Secure remote access
VPN and sensible network segmentation, so you can reach your home services from outside without exposing ports to the world or leaving accidental security holes.
Got a tangle of cables and abandoned ideas at home?
Tell me what's already there and what's missing – I'll propose a concrete setup.
